Arbiters: Tales of the Medicine Sellers is a fanmade, non-profit, digital only zine project revolving around the series/movies Mononoke.The goal of the project is to bring fans of all kinds together to celebrate the love for the series, its lore, and countless of untold stories left to the imagination.

We would welcome artwork and written works, as well as canon characters and/or Original Medicine Seller characters.
CREATION GUIDELINES
PAGE/SPREAD ARTISTS Artists must create piece(s) of a Medicine Seller(s), canon or of original creation, during their travels or in a confrontation against a Mononoke. You are free to create your pieces as long as it involves the world of Mononoke, and the Medicine Sellers.COMIC ARTISTS must create a comic with a minimum of 2 pages and a maximum of 6. The comics may be done in color or in monochromes. You are free to create your pieces as long as it involves the world of Mononoke, and the Medicine Sellers.SPOT ARTISTS will work with a writer in creating a piece(s) in correlation with their written piece. This can range from a small art piece(s) scattered across the writing or a full page piece that goes along with the piece. These pieces must be fully in color (lest the location in itself has a monochrome color scheme)MERCH ARTISTS will need to create digital pieces that will go with the zine, such as wallpapers, icons, or printable works. They must be ok with the knowledge that people may use these for personal use. These pieces must be fully rendered and fully in color (lest the location in itself has a monochrome color scheme)FANFIC WRITERS must write a fanfiction regarding the world of the series. Whether it be from the perspective of someone witnessing the Medicine seller, the mononoke, or even the Medicine Seller(s) itself. You are free to create your pieces as long as it involves the world of Mononoke, and the Medicine Sellers.

What is a Zine?
A zine (or a fanzine) is an unofficial publication produced by fans for other fans. They are usually a collaboration of artworks, written works and even merchandise. These can come in a digital and/or physical form.What format will it be?
The zine will be a fully digital one, in the format of a PDF alongside any digital merch.Is this zine for profit?
NO. This zine is purely a fan-project made for fun. It shall be free on release, and no profit shall be made of it.Can I sell my own artwork?
Once the zine is completed and formally released, your individual artwork done for the zine is yours to do as you wish. If you are an independent artist and wish to make it a print, a keychain, whatever it is you desire for your professional or personal use, you may do so. The zine in itself and in its entirety will not be printed nor will it be sold for profit.Will this be a SFW Zine?
This will be a SFW Zine by Mononoke standards. The series and the movies do a lot of symbolism, but we will keep the subjects to SFW standards.
APPLICATIONS & WORK
Can I apply as an artist or writer even if I don't have any Mononoke art to apply with?
Yes. While we would like to see Mononoke artwork as to view your interpretation of the characters, it is not mandatory.Can I apply to apply as a contributor even if I don't have social media?
Yes. However you will require a discord account, as you shall be joining a server for further communication.Can we draw OCs, or do we have to draw Canon characters?
Both allowed! You may draw canon characters found in the series/movies, or you may draw scenarios with your own Medicine Seller OC. The only requirement that it has to involve a Medicine Seller.Can I apply to more than one role?
You may. However in the end, if you are chosen, you will be chosen for one of the roles you have applied. If you are applying to multiple roles, be sure you will be comfortable with all of the roles you have applied for.
MODS
PLAGARISM AND USAGE OF AI IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. IF WE FIND THAT YOUR PIECES WERE STOLEN OR USED AI, THEN WE WILL REJECT YOUR APPLICATION.
Mods must be 18+ of age
Applicants are not required to have Mononoke artwork for their application submissions.
Applicants are required to submit at least 3 of your best pieces of artwork that meet the requirements for the position you're applying to. Details will be listed in the application itself.
You will be requested to submit a link leading to your portfolio/artwork(s) for us to review. We recommend Google Drive, Google Docs, and existing social media post containing the artwork, etc. (For Art and Graphics Mods) or AO3 or any other writing hosting platform (For Writing Mods). Do not use Discord Links, as those expire.
You may apply to more than one role. However in the end, if you are chosen, you will be chosen for one of the roles you have applied. If you are applying to multiple roles, be sure you will be comfortable with all of the roles you have applied for.
Please make sure the pieces are SFW. If you insist on adding a piece that can be considered NSFW, such as gore or nudity, a warning must be placed beforehand of the possible triggers.
We will not accept any portfolios that contain triggering material, such as incestious works, slurs, or other dead dove subjects. Any application containing these will be rejected.
